Crawlin!!!

Wow. Time goes quick! Today Brie started to crawl! I am really sad she is growing so fast. She is such a good baby- very happy and content (Very unlike her big brother!). I wish she could stay little and sweet forever! It's funny how you think differently with each kid. With Dax, we were like Yes! He is crawling! With Ambrie, it's like NO! NO! NO! That means you eat more things, and you are closer to walking, so I will have to soon chase you! (I think its similar to wanting twins as your first kids- what on earth was I thinkinking with that wish!) Brie is a very determined little girl- if she wants something she will do whatever it takes to get it! Like if she sees something on the floor, she rolls until she gets it! She has a stronger personality every day!

Dax is doing pretty well- he is also getting a bigger personality with more words! Everything is "mine" and we are supposed to give him everything he wants! The other night Derik went to put him down for nighttime, and he read the usual 3 books- well Dax always wants more so we make sure there are only 3 books around! Dax got ahead of Derik this time, and when Derik was done with the third, Dax got a huge grin on his face and proceeded to pull out a 4th book from under his pillow! He was so impressed he had thought of that!

Derik and I are pluggin along.......we just had checkout time it was horrible. We will just say most of these guys think cleaning invloves water and paper towles! We are statring to look around and find a place of our own!

Icky!!!

So we are now all recovering from a nice week of being sick! Ambrie had the croup- no fun for a 5 month old! She got a shot to help her and I figured since we were there to get Dax his flu shot. Well I had to take Ambrie back to have her checked on (her cough just didnt sound good to me-but it was fine) and I ran into a little problem. As I drove into the doctors parking lot, I heard a little voice in the back seat saying Sorry Sorry Sorry Mama! He kept saying it into the office. I was so sad! I guess he thought he got a shot because he was bad and was getting another one! Why he thought that I have no idea! I had to keep telling him no hurt! and that they were only looking at Ambrie! He got very protective of his little sis when they put her on the table- we had to give him a sticker to calm him down! When I was little I always screamed when we got to the doctors office. I think I would rather have Dax screaming than the sad little Sorry Sorry Sorry Mama's!

Oh! And Ambrie has her own little tricks! She likes to scoot out of her swing! Its one that is short so its already on the floor, but if I dont watch she gets right out! She LOVES to grab at things- one of her favorites is chip bags. When she is in her bumbo seat, I have to clear everything around her or it will end up in her little fingers!

So its been a long couple of weeks! We are trying to get a lot of apartment stuff done, and I am reading like a madwoman! I am reading the twilight series- its so nice to have an easy read- and its not textbooks!!!! Derik thinks Im crazy because I read a lot- Like sometimes over 400 pages.......in a day..........I love to have the evening when the kids are asleep to have a moment to myself. Right now Dax is in the kitchen with a shirt on his head, playing with plastic utensils. Oh and while I was helping a tenant, he decided he wanted chocolate milk, but gave up and just ate the powder instead. I now have a lot of messes to clean up! It never ends!!!! He does look really cute though!

Halloween..............

Overall, it went really well! We were worried about Dax, but he caught the hang of it pretty quick- but what can I say- there was candy involved! First we went "trunk or treating" which is where people line up with cars and give out candy- I think its good for little kids. Then, we went to a couple of houses. He got pretty good at saying trick or treat and thank you! Ambrie was a perfect baby as usual and didnt fuss! She was with us for half and watched trick or treaters with grandma for the other half! Dax and Brie's second cousins, Traven and T'naya were going around also, so we joined them. The only problem we now have is a little guy trying to get into his "elmo bucket" by climbing chairs and whatever gets in his way- even mom and dad!!! Ps- Do you like Brie's drool?! She LOVES to blow raspberries!!!

Who's afraid of the big, bad........Halloween Decor?!

So Dax is so afraid of Halloween! Anything we come into contact with that has anything to do with Halloween, Dax cries, shakes and gets pretty upset! We love Halloween so we are going to have to get him out of this! We were walking by some Halloween stuff the other day and he got upset and wouldnt even let me go near it! He kept pulling on me to come back!

So we had gotten him this fun monster animal and he freaked out!!! He did not want anything to do with it and finally took it from Derik and shoved it back in the box it came in! So last night we got it out again and played with it and he seems to warm up a little to it- he actually started to hug it! This morning it is now his little buddy...........:) We will probably get out more of our Halloween stuff and keep introducing him to it. I am really hoping we wont be trick or screaming!

I just couldnt help it!

So you ever have those days where you know you are the reason you are in a bad mood? I had one of those days! Daxton loves to say no and don't and then proceeds to hit or scream at the top of his lungs! Im sure the guys that are living below us think I beat him on a regular basis. Today I decided to get even with the little stinker. I starting screaming back and tickled him. He thought it was funny and stopped screaming- for like 5 min. I wish I could just scream my guts out when I dont get something I want! Can you imagine?

Yeah- its been a long time since I posted- I need to get better at this! I appreciate everyone's responses so far! I promise I love being a mom.

We watched the debate tonight- I thought both of them did well. Sarah wasnt a train wreck and Joe wasnt a bully. Derik and I are both independent but are for Obama for this election- it will be interesting to see who wins!

At Peace!

So Im sittin here listening to music and drinking tea........mmmmmmmmmmmm it feels so good to have a break! I can see Ambrie starting to fidget......gosh darn it! We have been working hard! Derik and I have been cleaning apartments and fixing things to get ready for students. Its never ending, but worth it! We want the students to be happy! In the past couple days I have really felt the Lord's love for me! I have been listening to a lot of Christian songs and they make me feel so good! I know he watching over us! It also hit me today that I think Ambrie knows my grandma. I just wish so hard that she was here and I could see her reactions to Ambrie's smiles- but I know she is just looking from a different view.
Having kids is so hard! I never knew it was like this- rewarding but a lot of work! Dax is always moving and doing something! Its hard because you are always trying to figure out something- like right now its why he wont sleep in his bed! I will always be wondering/worrying about something with each of my kids until I die! I love em to death, but wow its an eye opening experience!
